Meet The Owners
Erik Neuhaus was born and raised in Vernon, BC. He started his electrical apprenticeship in grade 12 of high school and has never looked back. He began his electrical journey in Kelowna doing residential and commercial work. He then explored the industrial side of electrical and took to the out-of-town work for a few years, later returning to residential and commercial in Kelowna. He always had a dream of starting his own company, and one day decided he would go out on his own. August 2015 OKV Electric was born, starting out in Kelowna for the following six years. In July of 2017 he married his best friend, Rhianne Pattermann. In September 2019 their first child was born, Gavin Neuhaus. In 2021 they moved back to Vernon and bought a small farm, and shortly after the move their second child was born, Emma Neuhaus.
Lee Owen is originally from Australia and came to Canada in 2010 to work a season at SilverStar Mountain Resort. While there, he met his future wife, Jennifer, a Canadian from Alberta who was working at Bugaboos on the hill. After spending time together, they got married and began building a life in Canada. Lee worked as an electrician in northern Canada and in the underground mines of Saskatchewan for over six years. During that time, he met Erik while they were both working in Fort McMurray, Alberta. After the birth of their first son, Lee decided to stop working out of town and focus on local opportunities. He earned his contractor’s license and started his own company, Outback Electric. Over the years, he and Erik crossed paths several times after Erik moved back to Vernon, and they occasionally talked about partnering up. Eventually, the timing was right, and they decided to join forces. Lee and Jennifer now have three children—two boys and one girl—and enjoy spending time outdoors as a family. Their favourite activities include mountain biking, snowboarding, fishing, and hanging out at the beach.
